Kyrgyzstan became as independent country in 1991. It is a young developing state with a democratic system. Many foreign countries have helped Kyrgyzstan in this process. Also, United Nations Development Program work in Kyrgyzstan, which aims to provide support in poverty alleviation. One of UNDP Program is "Local Governance".

The Art Museum in the Oak Park, where you can get in touch with the history of Asian people, even get something interesting for yourself
Every day when I walk to university I always pass near an old building and never notice it. This is an art gallery, which is situated in Oak Park not far from my university. This is a place, where paintings stored and sold to anyone, who wants to buy a work of well-known painters, and at the same time of not famous painters. Besides paintings, you can get jewelry, traditional clothes of nations in Central Asia, carpets, and, of course, souvenirs. In one word, this is a real art gallery, which is full of interesting things.

Gulka is back, taking about her beloved evening walks.
One of the best universities in Kyrgyzstan and Central Asia is American University in Central Asia. It's situated in the center of Bishkek. It's not far from the Supreme Soviet and with beautiful parks. I often stay late at night to do my assignments and usually get home alone.

There is a white beautiful building in the center of Bishkek, which has a statue in front. This building is the National Historical Museum
and the statue in front of it is a "Freedom" statue. On the right side
of the building there is an interesting thing: those are small
sculptures. It's made of stone and it looks like a person, who holds a
cup with his left hand. On the back side of the museum there is a small
square with a Lenin's statue. All of these statues show the history of Kyrgyzstan: small sculptures reflect ancient history of the country; Lenin's statue reflects Soviet times in Kyrgyzstan, and "Freedom" statue reflects our days.

Every day huge numbers of day labores enter Kyrgyzstan looking for work in the cotton fields.
Everyone deserves a good life. People in any place work hard to feed their families but not as hard as those in a small village where the residents work from the early morning till late evening in order to earn one dollar a day. I just wonder how can they live for this very small amount of money?!

Plaza . A new shopping center was opened in the begging of the last December. Its one of the most beautiful buildings in Bishkek. Even though it is not so far away from ZUM , there are lots of shoppers everyday. Some people say that it is cheaper than in ZUM .
